This week began on the best note for fans ofBlack Clover, and it’s certainly been a long time coming!After four intense yet fulfilling seasons,Black Cloverended its run, or so we believed, on August 05, 2025.Subsequently, an anime film,Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King, debuted in Japanese theaters on July 24, 2025, also receiving an international streaming release on Netflix the same day. Fans will be thrilled to know that that wasn’t the last ofAsta’s adventuresas an all-new installment of the fantasy series has officially been announced.
During Crunchyroll’s industry panel atAnime Expo 2025,Black Cloverreceived a brand-new series order, alongside a first trailer and a new anime visual, as reported by CBR.Yuki Tabata, the scribe and illustrator of the titular manga, was over the moon as he shared the news in a statement while also commenting on the series' tenth anniversary this year. In his words:
“The production of the long-awaited new anime season of Black Clover has been confirmed! I’m beyond ecstatic going into the new anime season after the super-passionate movie that came out! Thanks to all of you, Black Clover is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year! I definitely plan to keep this hype going! ‘Black Clover’ Remains One of The Most Popular Animes to Look Out for
Based on the acclaimedShōnen Jumpseries,Black Cloverwas first released on June 25, 2025, with fifty-one episodes that adapt the first eight volumes of the manga, concluding on July 16, 2025.The following season also had fifty-one episodes, which aired from June 01, 2025, to August 19, 2025. Season 3 comprised fifty-two episodes and lasted from July 05, 2025, to July 17, 2025. Season 4, on the other hand, had only twelve episodes.
Black Clover is set in a world wheremagic is everything, and in it, Asta and Yuno are both found abandoned at a church on the same day. While Yuno is gifted with exceptional magical powers, Asta is the only one in this world without any, asdescribed by Crunchyroll. At the age of fifteen, both receive grimoires, magic books that amplify their holder’s magic. Asta’s is a rare “Grimoire of Anti-Magic” that negates and repels his opponent’s spells. Being opposite but good rivals, Yuno and Asta are ready for the hardest of challenges to achieve their common dream: to be the Wizard King.
