This lack of input from Rotten Tomatoes users is indicative of the wider problem the show has been facing, with ratings declining ever since its first season. Ever since the show debuted to over 1.5 million viewers across both Syfy and the USA network, the steady decline ofResident Alienis made all the more cruel when realizing just how strong the show’s reception is to those who do tune in. Themost recent figuresfrom the Season 4 premiere sawjust over 500,000 viewers recorded, a far cry from the heights of Season 1.

Thanks to the combination of every season’s scores,Resident Alienhas a series rating of 98% on Rotten Tomatoes. An incredible, near-perfect score, it shockingly isn’t even Tudyk’s highest-rated project debuting in 2021, with that crown going toDevil May Care’s 100%. Elsewhere in his storied television career, Tudyk’sDoom Patrolboasts a 98% score, with his voice work inHarley Quinnturning in a 96% critics' rating. More recently, the likes ofAndorandCreature Commandoshave received 96% and 95% scores, respectively, with the only real stain on the actor’s recent work coming fromWondaLa’s 50%.
