This week is gonna be a big one for trailers. We’ve already seen looks atFifty Shades Darker,Miss Sloane, and theTupac ShakurbiopicAll Eyez On Me, and by week’s end we’ll have also seen previews for Disney’sMoanaandTom Ford’s early awards contenderNocturnal Animals. Smack dab in the middle of all this will be the announcement trailer forAnnabelle 2, but before then, the director revealed a first look on social media.
David F. Sandbergrevealed a behind-the-scenes image of himself setting up the creepy doll fromThe Conjuringon the set of the upcoming spin-off sequel, while revealing the first trailer will drop tomorrow. Sandberg was mostly known for directing short films, one of which was developed into the feature-length filmLight’s Out, on whichThe ConjuringdirectorJames Wanserved as a producer.Light’s Out 2already got thegreen light, but Sandberg is also working on theAnnabellesequel.

The official plot description reads:
Several years after the tragic death of their little girl, a dollmaker and his wife welcome a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage into their home, soon becoming the target of the dollmaker’s possessed creation, Annabelle.
Now that we’ve all seenThe Conjuring 2, could this nun have something to do with the same demonic entity that terrorized Hodgson family? “I’ve read the script, and I think this is gonna be one of those occasions where the sequel is actually better,” Sandberg toldColliderat Comic-Con. “It’s gonna be like theGodfather 2of creepy doll movies.”
