This morning,we exclusively debuted the first trailer forBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition, the long-discussed R-rated, extended cut of directorZack Snyder’ssuperhero smackdown. If you watched the trailer, then you noticed quite a few bits of brand new footage here and there, along with a look atJena Malone’s mysterious character, who apparently has some sort of interaction withAmy Adams’ Lois Lane.
Snyderpreviously told Colliderthat the new footage in the extended cut of the film would feature a much longer North Africa sequence, as well as more graphic violence during Batman’s fight in the warehouse and even a different opening and ending:

“There’s a little bit of action, there’s a little bit of violence that we trimmed out for the MPAA that we put back. The Batman warehouse rescue, there’s a couple shots of Doomsday that were too intense. Then there’s a little bit longer ending, sort of the ending sequence, and the opening of the movie, the North Africa sequence is really much different.”
Some of this is glimpsed in today’s trailer, namely more shots from the North Africa sequence and of course Jena Malone’s character. And since folks are mighty curious about how different this three-hour cut ofBatman v Supermanis, we’ve put together a rundown of what, exactly, is new in the trailer:

It’ll be interesting to see how this half hour of extra footage impacts the film as a whole—if some story or character points will become more clear, or if it’s simply just more movie. Whatever the case, I’m definitely curious to check it out. For a closer look at today’s new footage, peruse the screengrabs below orclick herefor all our previousBatman v Supermancoverage.
