Welcome to Collider Heroes, hosted by Jon Schnepp, with guests Robert Meyer Burnett and very special guest Rob Liefeld. This week (Tuesday Jan 25th, 2016) we discuss the following:

Deadpool Mania!

With a week left before the first superhero film of 2016 opens, we’ve got a cubic ton of Deadpool viral marketing and pre-movie mayhem to enjoy! From the Breast Cancer Exam commercial to Ryan Reynolds cracking us up on the Graham Norton show from across the pond, now we’ve got Deadpool giving away Chimichangas at the Superbowl! Let’s talk Deadpool!

How funny do we want ‘Thor: Ragnarok’?

So after the news of Director Taika Waititi was announced, I understood that because the script was reportedly so heavy and dark, that they wanted someone with a lighter touch to direct the film, and add some moments of humor to the film. How funny do we want the Hulk and Thor to be?

‘Legends of Tomorrow’ Guests! Flash meets Supergirl! DC TV explosion!

Legends of Tomorrowhas time-jumping and features Constantine, Jonah Hex, Hourman, Red Tornado, and a much older Green Arrow from a future multiverse who is missing an arm (Dark Knight Returns!), whileThe Flashhas ripped into the Multiverse, and here comes a “Crisis from infinite earths” storyline to feature the crossover betweenFlashandSupergirl?! Let’s talk about this!

Minor Mutations

Flashback -  ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ (2005)

Oh the pain when you have such an incredible character, an amazing backstory, and then the cinematic version takes a steamy corner dump on all of the above! No, I’m not talking about Wolverine, I’m specifically talking about the character Deadpool. This film so screwed up the insane potential of having the hilarious Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, that it almost killed the Wolverine sequel and literally buried the Deadpool movie for years afterwards.  We also got a pretty cool Sabretooth thanks to Liev Schrieber, a goofy version of The Blob, an extra young Emma Frost, A computer graphics tron-like dead eyed creepy VR version of a walking Patrick Stewart Prof X, and an okay Gambit. Let’s discussX-Men Origins: Wolverine.
