'Dark Winds' Season 4 Will Have 'Bosch's Titus Welliver Breaking Bad as a Sinister Crime Boss

Titus Welliveris taking on a different kind of challenge in AMC’s crime dramaDark Winds. Following the conclusion of his ten-year run as Harry Bosch on Prime Video’sBoschuniverse, Welliver will switch sides with his character Dominic McNair inDark WindsSeason 4. The network confirmed to TV Insider that Welliver will play the character, described as “a ruthless crime boss who imports and exports drugs and stolen luxury goods into and out of Los Angeles.” The season is already in production, andWelliver shared a behind-the-scenes photoon X. “Dark Windsseason 4, back on the chain…,” the post’s caption reads. The image shows him in chained handcuffs in what appears to be a prison with some crew and cast members.

Details aboutDark WindsSeason 4 have yet to come out, but showrunnerJohn Wirthtold TV Insider afterthe Season 3 finalethat the season will be based onTony Hillerman’s novel,The Ghostway. “I’m not a Navajo, and I’m not an expert in all things Navajo, but my understanding is if you are with a person when they breathe their last breath, that breath goes into you and you become ghost sick, which requires a ceremony to cure you of ghost sickness,” Wirth said. The season’s story is “about a16-year-old Navajo girl who runs awayfrom boarding school. One of the routine duties of Navajo tribal police is to find runaways and return them to school,” the showrunner said, adding:

“So this girl runs away, and Leaphorn (Zahn McClarnon), Chee (Kiowa Gordon), and Manuelito (Jessica Matten) go out to Los Angeles to investigate her disappearance. It is rather routine in the beginning, and then it develops into more of a deadly story for her and people around her.”

What’s Next for ‘Bosch’ Star Titus Welliver?

The actor played Harry Bosch in the 2014 Prime Video series based onMichael Connelly’s books. He reprised the character for a spinoff series,Bosch: Legacy, which ran for three seasons andwrapped up earlier this year. Welliver was being eyed for a starring role in a spinoff series of CBS’The Equalizer,but the spinoff fell apart. He was recently cast in the MGM+ crime drama,The Westies.
