The next in a long line ofBritish mystery seriesto catch the eye of fans,Murder Most Puzzlingis set to adaptParnell Hall’s best-selling book series,The Puzzle Lady Mysteries, and hit British screens on Channel 5 this Thursday, June 19. The series featuresLovejoyactressPhyllis Logan, best known for her role as Mrs Hughes in the hit seriesDownton Abbey, starring as Cora Felton, a specialist in solving crossword puzzles who turns to solving crime in the sleepy town of Bakerbury.

Set to feature six episodes in total, Logan is joined by a cast that includes the likes ofCharlotte Hope, Alistair Brammer, Nick Danan, Jack Weise, Becky Baidwan, Richard Croxford, Conor Sánchez, andAmber Mendez-Martin, among others, withDominique Maloneypenning the adaptation. Ahead of the show’s imminent release, with no news yet on any international expansion, Logan has given a tease on what fans can expect, even describing the series as a bit like Murder She Wrote meets Miss Marple on steroids." In an interview with Radio Times, Logan said:

“It is a police procedural, but not as we know it, and it’s full of great characters that add so much to it, like DCI Hooper, played by Adam Best, who is just so funny, he made me laugh all the time. Our writer, Dominique Maloney, wrote such a clever, funny script, and that’s what I focused on for the whole shoot, because if you play the episodes as they are written you just can’t go wrong. I’ve seen a trailer and it all looks very exciting!”
