Rodriguez is set to portray Assistant District Attorney Marion Alba in the upcoming season, scheduled for a 2025 release. Little has been revealed about what’s ahead when the show returns, but we can expect it to pick up from where Season 2 left off—with that unexpected cliffhanger!
Meanwhile, with Rodriguez’’s debut in the third season ofWill Trent, she spoke withTV Insiderabout the gig but couldn’t tease much. Still, she hinted at how her character is sure not to be a “mess” compared to her past gigs while also describing her first encounter with the title character.
“There are a lot of incredible things happening this season. I come on as an assistant district attorney. I am usually playing a hot mess, but that is not the case in this scenario, and it’s really wonderful and fun and different for me. I’m trying to think of what I can tell you without ruining it for everybody. I can tell you that my first encounter with Will isn’t great.”
Season 3of the police procedural is set to premiere onJanuary 7, 2025,and will see the return of the ensemble cast:Ramón Rodríguez,Erika Christensen,Sonja Sohn,Jake McLaughlin, andIantha Richardson. The installment will alsofeature other new starsbesides Rodriguez, whose “charismatic and confident” character joined the cast as a series regular in August 2024. Speaking of one of the new stars,Ariana Madixwill appear in a guest role, as herself, visiting Atlanta for work and hiring Michael Ormewood (McLaughlin) to provide security for a friend’s intervention.

“Oh my God, my wardrobe is insane. The wardrobe helps me come out of myself in a way that I’ve never [experienced]. It allows me to be somebody different, stand differently, walk differently, present myself differently. It also [makes me] feel like these people are real and alive and they’re colorful, and it’s not your standard police precinct, district attorney situation.”
