Syfy’s new supernatural series starringWynonna EarpfavoriteMelanie Scrofanoconcludes its first season in a few hours, and fans are in for some grand surprises. Since premiering on June 12,Revivalhas been full of unexpected twists with the Cypress family right at the center. We’ve seen Wayne (David James Elliott) and his daughters Dana (Scrofano) and Em (Romy Weltman) attempt to navigate their complicated relationship, which even gets more tensewhen Em becomes a reviver.
As the clock ticks till the finale, executive producerAaron B. Koontzhasteased high stakes aheadinRevival, warning fans that no character is safe. Koontz also elaborated on the episode’s description, promising that we’ll finally get some real answers behind Revival Day.Speaking in a recent interview, he shared:

“There are two massive answers that are coming with the finale. One is you’re going to learn who killed Em. We’re not holding that beyond this season. That has been our central mystery. And then the other that you will learn, at least partially, is what caused Revival Day. And so you’re going to get a big piece of that information of what caused Revival Day as well.”
‘Revival’ Season 1 Finale Won’t End With Any Lingering Questions
As hinted by the synopsis, the final episode ofRevivalSeason 1,titled “Rend the Veil,” will reveal the truth behind the biggest mystery of the horror series, which is the day when the deceased residents of Wausau, Wisconsin, suddenly came back to life — and not as zombies. Dana and Em will uncover the horrifying origins of the event, and their discoveries irrevocably change the Cypress family and the town of Wausau. Divulging more about Episode 10, Koontz noted that the plan was always for Season 1 to end with “real answers” for viewers as kind of a reward rather than wrapping up “with the same lingering questions.” He explained:
“We’re asking a lot of questions. And every time throughout this season, we’ll answer a couple questions — usually we’ll answer one or two, but we’ll ask three or four more at the same time, and eventually that would get frustrating. So thinking about howLuke [Boyce]and I wanted to structure this, we did want to reward the audience of going through the ups and downs of that with somereal answers here in Episode 10”

RevivalSeason 1 finale airs Thursday, August 14 at 10 PM ET on Syfy. Stay tuned to Collider for more information.
