If Nothing Else in Season Three, Give Emma D’Arcy’s Rhaenyra a Sword
As things heat up in the civil war within House Targaryen with Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) and Team Black versus Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney) and Team Green, one thing is definitely needed: Rhanerya be given a sword and actor Emma D’Arcy agrees. In an interview on theHappy Sad Confused podcast, they explain: “The petition I’ve put in is I want a weapon. Like it’s getting ridiculous. I don’t even mind if it’s like a little dagger, a short sword. I don’t really care. All the men in the show don’t have to worry about where they put their hands because they’re constantly holding the pommel of their sword.” And it’s not just that the regent should or shouldn’t have a sword, because Aegon indeed does. “That obviously sounds like innuendo,” D’Arcy explains. “And you can do with that what you will but that is true. And all the rest of us are going, ‘Where do we put our f–king hands?'”
