That about rounds out the major players from the original cast for the sequel.Dwayne Johnson,Karen Gillan,Jack BlackandKevin Hartare already set to return, along withWelcome to the JungledirectorJake Kasdan(Bad Teacher). As previously reported, the sequel also has some fun new additions on the call sheet includingAwkwafina,Danny DeVito, andDanny Glover.
Plot details for the sequel are still under wraps. The 2017 hit offered an update on the classic Jumanji yarn, inverting the action from a magical board game that invades the real world to a magical video game that sucks players into its reality. The film focused on four teens (played by Blain, Wolff, Iseman, and Turner) who find themselves transported into the adventure-packed world of Jumanji, where they take on the form of the avatars played by Hart, Johnson, Black, and Gillan, respectively.
The young actors have been keeping busy between trips to the jungle. Wolff starred alongsideToni ColletteinAri Aster’s stunning horror hitHereditarylast year and is currently in post-production onThe Cat and the Moon, the coming-of-age drama that he wrote, directed and starred in.
Blain is currently starring in The CW’sCharmedreboot. Next up, he’ll be seen starringalongsideSamuel L. Jackson,Sebastian Stan, andEd HarrisinThe Last Full Measure, as well asAgainst All EnemieswithKristen StewartandAnthony Mackie.
Iseman starred in Sony’sGoosebumpssequelGoosebumps: Haunted Halloweenlast year and recently wrapped on New Line’s untitledAnnabellesequel, which is in post-production ahead of a prime July 3rd release.
Turner was previously seen inToddy Haynes’WonderstruckandMildred Piercemini-series.
