After unveiled a first look a few weeks ago, Netflix has released the first full-lengthLost in Spacereboot trailer, giving us an extensive peek at the highly anticipated new sci-fi series. It’s clear from the get-go that this may be one of Netflix’s most expensive ventures yet, as this looks less like a sci-fi TV series and more like a blockbuster sci-fi movie. The streaming service’s most expensive shows previously have been the period piecesThe Get DownandThe Crown, but I would not be surprised in the slightest to learn that they surpassed their own record withLost in Space.

While Netflix recently launched the sci-fi seriesAltered Carbon, that was more of an action noir, whereas this very much looks to be an action-adventure series. I’m actually pretty impressed by the effects on display, and nabbingParker Poseyfor the key role of Dr. Smith is enough to get me to watch at least the first episode.
