Marvel’s Netflix series are known for their dynamic opening credits, andLuke Cageis no different.Mike Colter’s Power Man series will drop all of its Season 1 episodes tomorrow on the streaming platform, but today you can watch the opener online.
While cutting between dreamy imagery of the Apollo Theater, the New York City skyline, and the intersection of Lennox Avenue and Malcolm X Boulevard in Harlem, the title sequence offers a close-up of Luke’s indestructible body as scenes from the city are projected on his skin. A Tribe Called Quest’sAli Shaheed Muhammadand Ghostface Killah colleagueAdrian Youngehelped craftthe series’ soundtrack, and the music layered the opening graphics reflect its hip-hop, funk, and jazz influences.
