Netflix has been extremely careful with the details ofJay Kelly, but with the release date announced, we’re bound to get a trailer soon. Of course, the trailer will have the task of providing a first look at most — if not all — cast members, so there might be no time to reveal details of the story. Not that it will bother long-time fans of the director and screenwriter, sinceat this point they fully trust his work.

What Else Has Noah Baumbach Made With Netflix?

The Netflix-Baumbach partnership has been a fruitful one for years. With the streamer, the director and screenwriter stepped out of his comfort zone to helm, for the first time ever, a story he himself didn’t create: the $100 million sci-fi comedyWhite Noise. Before that,Marriage Storybecame one of the streamer’s most awarded titles. TheAdam Driver(Megalopolis) andScarlett Johansson(Jurassic World: Rebirth) family drama received six Oscar nominations, including Best Motion Picture of the Year.

Baumbach, Netflix, and Adam Sandler also partnered up in 2017 forThe Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected), a quiet comedy that landeda comfortable 92% scoreonRotten Tomatoes. Since Sandler’s outings with renowned directorstend to be praised, chances are that we get one of the year’s must-watch titles withJay Kelly.
