The show earned strong scores of 91% from critics and 79% from audiences onRotten Tomatoes, but it wasn’t until shortly after the Season 1 finale that it was renewed for Seasons 2 and 3.Jay Duplass, who plays Hades inPercy JacksonSeason 1, Episode 7 “We Find Out the Truth, Sort Of,” recently caught up with People Magazine to talk about his new showDying For Sex, and he confirmed he will not be in Season 2, but he didn’t rule out a return in the future:

“I am not in Season 2. But, there have been some potential droppings about Season 3.”

Steve Cooganportrays Hades in the controversial film adaptation ofPercy Jackson and the Olympians, and while he does have a role in the first movie, he too is absent from the sequel. It’s not all that shocking to hear that Hades is absent from Season 2, considering the character is also not part ofThe Sea of Monsters, but he does resurface in later books. Fresh off the heels ofPercy Jackson and the OlympiansSeason 2 wrapping production, Disney announced last month thatthe show will return later this year in December, sticking to the same release window as Season 1.
