ActorJason Batemanhas joined the cast ofCarry On, an upcoming thriller film set to be produced by Netflix and Amblin Entertainment, according toDeadline. The actor is set to star alongsideTaron Egerton(Kingsman: The Secret Service) in the film, which will be helmed byJaume Collet-Serra, who previously directedThe Shallows. While no confirmed details have been revealed about the role that Bateman will play, it is reported that the film will take in an airport during Christmas and centers on a young TSA agent named Ethan Kopek (Egerton), who gets blackmailed into letting a mysterious yet dangerous package sneak through security and into a flight during one of the year’s busiest days....

It’s only been a few years since the lastMacbethadaptation, but you won’t see me complaining about new takes on one of Shakespeare’s best plays, especially when the talent is there. For those who are still somehow unaware of a play that’s over 400 years old, the story follows Lord and Lady Macbeth, who plot to murder the Scottish king and take the throne....

Now that you’ve had a few minutes to recover from the reveal ofZack Snyder’s newJustice Leaguetrailer, let’s take a moment to breathe and dig into just what is revealed in these frames. LAIKA deserves a breakout hit. Their biggest hit to date has been 2009’sCoraline, and whileParaNormanandThe Boxtrollsboth crossed $100 million worldwide, these movies are too good for such relatively low returns. Legends of Tomorrowis not just a glittering joy bomb, but a TV anomaly for a couple of reasons. For one, it gets better with every new season, learning from its past mistakes and embracing a meta appreciation of its growth. In the latest part of the movie-people-heading-to-TV trend, writer and director (and Oscar winner)Cameron Crowehas developed a series for Showtime,Roadies, that focuses on music — of course. Though you’re able to criticize the Crowe for many things (including everything that wasAloha), his musical taste is beyond reproach, and there’s a hope thatRoadiesmight capture some of the earnest, emotional magic ofAlmost Famous. A new trailer for the series seems to suggest that it will be fairly light-hearted and silly, with some epic performances and, of course, rad music....
