During a 2015 interview with Variety, McAdams said she spent time with real boxing families, saying“you never feel fully safe”and mentioning how“everybody goes away”for boxers the second they lose a fight.
Southpawwasproduced on a modest budget of only $30 million, and the film grossed$91 million globallywhile earning scores of 60% from critics and 75% from audiences onRotten Tomatoes. Sutter is best known for his work as the creator ofSons of Anarchy, the popular TV series that ran from 2008 to 2014, and he also worked as a staff writer onThe Shield, the procedural show starringWalton Goggins. He’s best known for helming all three installments inDenzel Washington’sEqualizerfranchise, which are alsodominating streaming charts over on Prime Video.
