Adam Scottis getting the flowers he’s always deserved for his work on theApple TV+seriesSeverance. He’s currently doing a series of interviews for his Emmy nomination for playing Mark Scout on the show. While it is beautiful to see Scott being recognized, it is something that fans of his television work have been saying for years. They wanted him nominated for a long run of great comedies, so now thatSeveranceis a hit, he’s getting the praise he’s deserved for shows likeParty DownandParks and Recreation.

So, naturally, while talking about his Emmy nomination, he was asked about his other work. One such interview withEntertainment Weeklybrought up a very important question: Who onParks and Recreationwould deserve their own spin-off? With shows likeThe Papercoming out– which is the spin-off ofThe OfficethatParks and Recreationwas originally designed to be – fans want to see a similar treatment given to their other favorite shows. Especially in the universe of workplace mockumentaries.

Garry (Jim O’Heir) talks in an office in Parks and Recreation

Scott’s response to who he’d want to see get a spin-off, though, is surprising because he thinks the best candidate is…Jim O’Heir’s Garry/Larry/Jerry Gergich. “Probably Jerry [Jim O’Heir],” Scott said. “I think because when we left the show, he was mayor, still, of Pawnee. I’d like to see how that worked out, if there were any scandals or if he was able to keep his powder dry and run the town in the way we know it should be run.”

It Is the Best Show for That Kind of Spin-Off

The Paperis nice for fans ofThe Officebut, as was the case when the show was actually on the air,Parks and Recreationfans deserve something nice as well.Parkswas always compared toThe Officegiven its origins, but it always felt more original and more heartfelt thanThe Office. And yet it is the show that is often sidelined to talk about otherMike SchurandGreg Danielsshows. Hopefully, just like the first time around,The Paperwill inspire creatives to return to Pawnee sooner rather than later.Even Scott thinks that a Jerry/Larry/Garry spin-off would be a great move. It might just be so Ben Wyatt can finally understand how Jerry and Gayle (Christie Brinkley) got married. Is this a long con?

You can see Scott and O’Heir on episodes ofParks and Recreation.
