We at Collider are happy to exclusively debut a new Denny’s commercial tied to the upcomingSolo: A Star Wars Story, featuringStar Warscreatures galore and Chrewbacca himself. The ad is part of Disney’s promotional campaign for the film, and at Denny’s specifically fans will be able to collect trading cards featuring characters from the movie as well as try a new movie-inspired menu. Proceeds from every trading card pack purchase benefit the charity No Kid Hungry.
Directed byRon Howard, the highly anticipated new film traces the origins of the Han Solo character from theStar Warsuniverse, withAlden Ehrenreich(Hail, Caesar!) filling the shoes ofHarrison Fordas a younger iteration of the icon. This is only the second ever theatrical “spinoff” film from Lucasfilm, as the studio previously releasedRogue One: A Star Wars Storywhich chronicled the events leading up to the story ofA New Hope.

Soloaims to fill in the backstory of the titular scoundrel, revealing how Han first came across Chewie, how he won the Millennium Falcon, and the origins of his relationship with Lando Calrissian, played in this film byDonald Glover. Indeed, this Denny’s commercial riffs on the Han/Lando relationship and appears to be recreating a scene fromSolothat we’ve glimpsed briefly in the trailers—a gamble between Han and Lando that may or may not feature the Falcon as the stakes.
Check out the commercial in the video below.Solo: A Star Wars Storyopens in theaters on May 25th and also starsEmilia Clarke,Woody Harrelson,Phoebe Waller-Bridge,Paul Bettany, andJoonas Suotamo.
