This November,Star Wars: The Force Awakenswill try to dip into your wallet again withStar Wars: The Force Awakens3D Collector’s Edition. This new edition containsJ.J. Abramscommentaryas well as new deleted scenes that weren’t included on the previous release because they knew they could get you to shell out more money if they held them for this new version, and I’m willing to bet there are evenmoredeleted scenes sitting around waiting to be released on the inevitable super-duper Sequel Trilogy box set that will be released sometime in 2020.

For the impatient,EWhas released a clip of a deleted scene that features Rey’s cranky junk dealer Unkar Plutt (Simon Pegg). In the scene, Plutt has somehow tracked Rey down to Maz Kanata’s castle on the planet Takodana, and threatens her because she stole the Millennium Falcon from him. She pulls a blaster on him, but he disarms her, and then when things are about to get rough, Chewbacca steps in.

There’s still more to this scene, but you’ll either have to buy the Blu-ray, or just read ahead because EW says what happens.

[Deleted scene spoilers ahead]

Here’s what EW writes:

Let’s just say, Chewbacca disarms him.

We’re talking literally. Rip! Plorp! A limb goes flying and lands on the gambling table, earning a high-pitched scolding from Warwick Davis’ character Wollivan.

I’m so glad this scene didn’t make it into the movie. As ifThe Force Awakensdoesn’t have enough fan service, do we really need a scene of Chewie ripping off a character’s arms to remind us of when Han Solo said inA New Hopethat wookies rip off limbs when they lose? What purpose does that serve inThe Force Awakens? Does that tell us anything new about Chewbacca? Does that tell us anything new about theStar Warsuniverse? Of course not.  That’s not to mention that it would pretty much be a repeat of the cantina brawl inA New Hope, andThe Force Awakenshas already gorged itself on aping that movie.
