What Is ‘Paradise’ About?

ParadisefollowsAgent Xavier Collins (Brown), who is tasked with investigating the murder ofPresident Cal Bradford (Marsden)after he’s found dead in his home. While the show masquerades as a simple political thriller/murder mystery, it’s revealed to be something much darker when the audience learns that around25,000 people are living under a mountain in Coloradoafter an Arctic volcano erupted and sent the world into a post-apocalyptic nightmare. Collins assumed his wife died in the chaos as she failed to make it to the sanctity of the underground town, but a twist near the end of the season alluded to the potential of more people being alive on the surface than the citizens of Paradise have been led to believe.
