In the trailer forThe Do-Over, Netflix’s latest original movie,David Spaderemarks, “Reunions are strange. They bring up a lot of feelings about your past. Who did you want to be, and who did you actually become?” This latest reunion ofAdam Sandlerand his typical group of recurring comedy buddies brings up the same questions: Who did Sandler want to be? With the encouragement of his brother, he wanted to become a comedian. Who did he actually become? The kind of actor who, after a long and fruitful comedy career, is the kind of man whosemi-jokes about doing movies just for the paid vacationsand keeps churning out duds that somehow has an audience that eats it up.The Do-Overlooks like the next one.
As part of Sandler’s deal with Netflix to make four movies, the first of which wasThe Ridiculous 6, here comes a tale about a down-in-the-dumps bank manager named Charlie (Spade) who encounters his high school buddy, Max (Sandler). After a string of intense partying, Max, who claims to be in the FBI, fakes their deaths. What ensues is an adventure that unearths hidden agendas, potential arrests, threesomes, and potential death. You know, typical Sandler fare.

Watch the trailer below:
Sandler veteranSteven Brill(ofLittle NickyandMr. Deeds) directsThe Do-Overwith a cast that includesPaul Patton(Warcraft),Kathryn Hahn(The Visit),Luis Guzman(We’re the Millers),Michael Chiklis(Fantastic Four),Sean Astin(50 First Dates),Catherine Bell(Bruce Almighty),Natasha Leggero(Neighbors),Nick Swardson(Just Go With It),Torsten Voges(Funny People),Renee Taylor(The Producers), andMatt Walsh(Ted).
The Ridiculous 6was announced to be Netflix’s most streamed original movie within the first 30 days of release, a fact that still blows my mind to this day. Nevertheless,The Do-Overiscoming out this May 27thand it’ll probably attract the same viewership. Be sure to take a look at ourranking of all of Sandler’s movies available to stream on Netflixhere.
