Lewis PullmanandMaya Hawke, both members of Hollywood royalty, are joining forces for a newromantic comedy with a surreal twist. They’ll play a pair of lovers buffeted by forces beyond their control inWishful Thinking. The film will mark the feature directorial and writing debut ofGraham Parkes.

Variety reportsthat Pullman and Hawke will play a couple with a troubled relationship whose volatility isn’t confined to the emotional realm. In fact, their turbulent romance is having bizarre physical effects on the world around them. With the world in turmoil, they’ll have to decide whether their love is worth fighting for, or if they should break it off for the good of reality. It’ll be the directorial debut for Parkes, a video game designer who co-created the acclaimed 2021 adventure gameBefore Your Eyes, and is working on its follow-up,Goodnight Universe, which will be released later this year.
