Netflixis certainly taking its time to decide the fate ofRansom Canyon. The hit series has consistently proven itself as a top performer on the platform and yet the streamer hasn’t officially renewed it for Season 2. During an interview with TV Insider, however, showrunnerApril Blair(All American) gave very good news to fans and revealed that the wheels are already turning to bring new episodes to life.
Blair commented on several aspects of the explosiveSeason 1finale, from Yancy’s (Jack Schumacher)shocking revealto that death that we still have to get over. In order to discuss the long-term effects of all that happened, though,theRansom Canyonboss had to delve a bit into Season 2and where we will find the characters if and when we meet them again. She stated:
“We’ve already started the writers’ room, even though the show hasn’t been picked up to series yet for Season 2, but we were already grappling with that, and what we wanted to do was kind of put to bed that loss, in a way. Not that Staten will ever get over the loss of his child, but we wanted to give him some hope and a little bit of lightness. Quinn’s going to go off to New York and come back.How is he going to win her back if he’s still haunted?I don’t feel like he could ever truly move on in his heart and his mind until that mystery was settled. We wanted to find some closure with that, and also, who was behind it and what really happened opens up a whole new series of relationship drama between Lucas and Lauren, as you know. So it gives us a lot of runway in other stories as well.”
‘Ransom Canyon’ Continues to Lasso Big Numbers
The future looks bright forRansom Canyon. Just this week, the series managed to rake in 2.5 million views –an impressive numberwhen you consider that the series has already beenon the platform for a month. Since we don’t know every single factor that Netflix considers before announcing a renewal, at this point we just have to wait until either Season 2 is made official or we getunexpected cancellationnews.
